Data Spaces seem complex. But the connection to the world of secure and standardized data sharing can be established within a few weeks. That was proven in a project with Keboda, one of our customers from Asia, whose setup took less than a month. Keboda is an electronic components manufacturer from China, operating internationally in global automotive supply chains.

The goal was to connect Keboda to the Catena-X ecosystem in order to exchange data about their components.
Catena-X is a Data Space from the automotive sector and was established in response to several challenges in the automotive industry, including the complexity of value chains for companies. Catena-X provides a secure and standardized data space to enable compliance with regulatory requirements as well as improve supply chain transparency and efficiency in the automotive industry. Its modular and standardized use-case architecture delivers value by reducing time to market and implementation costs while fostering innovation. Participants across the value chain can benefit equally from the system, which facilitates data sharing in a transparent and compliant manner.
sovity supports Keboda throughout their entire journey in Catena-X. In the beginning of the project, our experts explained the architecture of the Data Space. Then, they worked closely with Keboda’s developers to assess their existing IT systems and advised how to integrate them into the Catena-X framework. Suppliers can often retain much of their current IT architecture: Rather than requiring a complete overhaul, the focus is on adapting existing systems to integrate the new data models and API interfaces needed for compliance with Catena-X standards. This minimizes disruption while ensuring all requirements are met. While technical preparations were underway, sovity also supported the supplier with the administrative and organizational aspects of onboarding. Then, initial tests were conducted within our internal test environment before ultimately onboarding to the Data Space.
Next to the support and consulting services, sovity delivers the EDC (Eclipse Data Space Components) Connector for Catena-X. As our EDC is Catena-X certified, by using it, Keboda can benefit from its compliance to EU regulations and can operate in the European market unhindered.
