NTT Communications and sovity Driving Innovation: Transformative Partnership accelerating the use of global Data Spaces

The strategic collaboration between NTT Communications and sovity is emerging as a transformative force, empowering global data collaboration in Data Spaces such as the Catena-X network. Guided by principles of data sovereignty, NTT Communications and sovity are leading the toward more interconnected and efficient data ecosystems. The initiative enables Japanese companies to utilize Data Space technology on a global scale, according to standards set by the International Data Spaces Association (IDSA) and the Gaia-X Initiative.

Akira Sakaino, Director Evangelist NTT Communications, emphasizes „We need managed, flexible and easy-to-use connectors to enable more vendors and users to leverage data spaces for business. I expect sovity’s service to be very useful for telecom carriers to combine networks and clouds with connectors to provide global and secure data space solutions.”

The collaborative partnership is committed to accelerate cross-company data exchange by onboarding Japanese companies to Data Space initiatives. This is realized by delivering Data Space technologies such as the EDC Connector, constructing use cases and establishing Data Space sandboxes for the validation of principles. It aims to seamlessly integrate Proof of Concepts (PoC), particularly in areas such as Traceability and Sustainability. NTT Communications guarantees close Customer Support, Consulting services, and the implementation of use cases. sovity, as a technology partner, contributes extensive expertise in Data Space technology.

The collaboration within the Catena-X ecosystem is poised to redefine how organizations harness the potential of their data. Created with the intent to radically collaborate, Catena-X is comprised of all automotive value chain partners tackling relevant current and future challenges. Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) is one of the most tangible use cases with the goal to significantly reduce carbon emissions: Calculating the CO2 emissions in the production of a car requires automated cross company data exchanges connecting potentially thousands of suppliers.

Furthermore, the  inauguration of the new IDSA Hub in Japan deepens the international data collaboration landscape, and marks a pivotal step in promoting global cooperation and underscores the importance of standards and interoperable data spaces on an international level.

Stay tuned for more updates as NTT Communications and sovity continue to spearhead transformative initiatives through innovation, collaboration, and the inherent power of Data Spaces.
